The tiny vessels are an ongoing series of explorations into working with clay. They act as tests for techniques, materials, form, and processes. Mostly the tests are connected in some way with ideas of home or place, whether it be smoke firing works with garden prunings as fuel, using abandoned wasps nests as slips, working with clay dug from my garden or adding clay to found brick rubble. They function as meditations on the permanence, or otherwise, of home and place.
