place based works

The use of foraged clay, soil, rocks, ash and other materials continue my exploration into ideas of place, belonging and coexistence. It provides opportunities to grapple with the substance of a place, to interpret and form a synthesis between where you live and what you make. But place can be slippery and ambiguous, especially in urban areas, with materials trucked in, moved around and shifted from their source. Many of us are in a process of reconciliation to the concepts of home and belonging; it can be a long conversation.
