This sculpture continues my interest in exploring how natural and human systems interact in order to talk about our relationship to place. Unmoored uses the materials of, and visually replicates, a jetty or wharf pylon. A ceramic assemblage balanced on top of a timber post references corals. The use of wild clay and techniques such as smoke firing gives an aged patina to the work.
