Unfired clay structures could be created by people, animals or insects. Working site-specifically allows for a responsiveness climate and place and will change over time, devolving back into clay itself, with the potential for being reused in another sculpture.
This sculpture, Raw, won the best sculpture award for Sculpture on the Scarp, the Darlington Arts Festival 2023. The sculpture was created in situ along the heritage trail adjacent to the old Darlington rail station. Sculpture by the Scarp 2023 was curated by Leanne Bray.
